Travelling to Lombardy

Piedmont. A world-renowned region featuring a rolling landscape with rice fields, chestnut and hazelnut trees mingling with vineyards and picturesque towns like Asti and Cuneo. Known for producing famous wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, and Asti, it's also the birthplace of hazelnut chocolate spread and arborio rice. The area is rich in truffles, and many festivals around this theme are organized in autumn. Simply put, Piedmont offers a feast for your taste buds!

Lombardy. This affluent region, situated between the Alps and the Po Valley, borders Switzerland and boasts Italy’s largest lake, Lake Garda. Other notable lakes include Lake Como and Lake Maggiore. Lombardy hosts several key ski resorts such as Livigno, Bormio, and Tonale. The city of Monza is a must-visit for Formula 1 fans.

Lake Maggiore. The lake is surrounded by charming towns, with Stresa and Locarno being the most renowned. These towns offer delightful outdoor cafes and restaurants, and surprisingly good shopping. Our hotels are both lakeside and slightly inland, like in Verbania.

Lake Como. Many Hollywood stars have purchased homes here, which is easy to understand. The lakeside towns and villages offer stunning surroundings, patrician villas, and grand gardens. Additionally, it’s close to the vibrant city of Milan.

Friuli Venezia Giulia, bordering Slovenia, is marked by beautiful landscapes and unspoiled nature, both inland and along the coast. Lignano and Grado are popular destinations.

Veneto, nestled between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, is known for its beautiful scenery, long beaches, cultural cities, delicious food, and fantastic wines. Venetian cities boast stunning architecture. While Venice is the region’s most famous attraction, cities like Padua, Treviso, Verona, and Vicenza are also worth visiting. The region is perfect for an active vacation, and for cycling enthusiasts, the Brenta River offers picturesque routes lined with grand Venetian villas.

Emilia Romagna. Famous for Parmigiano-Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma, this region has made its mark on the map. Around Parma, there are factories you can visit to witness the production process and purchase products at competitive prices. Modena, home to the renowned balsamic vinegar and sparkling Lambrusco wine, is also a must-see. The region has many cultural cities with long histories and beautiful architecture. Bologna, Ravenna, and Ferrara are just a few. And don't forget about the small Republic of San Marino, boasting spectacular views from its hilltop position. Rimini, Riccione, Cattolica, and Cervia are some of the region's well-known beach resorts.
